Weaving workshop 20/02/25
In this engaging workshop, you'll discover the art of weaving on a frame loom and create your own woven piece. With over 50 designs to choose from, you'll learn how to set up, plan, and weave your selected pattern, gaining valuable skills that you can continue to develop at home.
As a beginner-friendly activity, this workshop requires no prior experience—just your enthusiasm to learn. You'll be guided through each step of the process, from selecting your design to mastering the basics of loom setup and weaving techniques.
Throughout the session, you'll work with deadstock and reclaimed wool yarn and equipment that you will be able to take home to continue exploring the craft. The rhythmic nature of weaving can be both calming and invigorating, offering a chance to unwind whilst engaging your creativity.
By the end of the workshop, you'll have not only started weaving a beautiful woven piece but will also be confidant that you can continue working independently. As well as the piece that you have started, you will be taking home; the loom and accompanying equipment, written instructions for every step of the process, enough yarn to finish the project and a note book to document the process in.
Refreshments will be provided.
This workshop will take place at Cow Parsley Studio, Viables Craft centre, The Harrow Way, RG22 4BJ, Basingstoke. It will run from 13:00 - 17:00.
